Up and on the bus early for a 20-minute trip to the Cape Town airport. A relaxing 2-hour flight to Johannesburg, SA, across the terminal and two more hours to Nampula, Mozambique. Good bye cold weather, hello warmth of Africa!
If you're familiar with Cape Town, you're aware that it's far more like Europe than Africa. We left that behind today and definitely entered what most people think of when they think of Africa. Bumpy roads, vendors on the sides of the roads, loud horns and tourists stick out quite plainly!
Our Hotel in Nampula, Mozambique. We’re joined here by Bruce
and Deb Dooyema, Kim and Kathy Dooyema, and Dixon and Char Granstra.
A toast raised to Dixon Granstra. It’s his birthday today!
We finished the evening with a delicious braai, or, bar-b-que and some rousing
singing outdoors under a large tree. This group knows how to sing, and adding
voices from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique was a special treat.
